꽃피려는 당신의 아름다운 명성을 망칠 수 있는

향기로운 장미 속 벌레같은 당신의 치부를

당신은 참으로 달콤하고 사랑스럽게 꾸밀줄 아는구나!

아, 당신은 달콤한 꽃향기로 당신의 죄를 감싸는도다!

당신 과거를 들추어내는 소문은

당신의 방탕했던 시절을 음란하게 속삭이면서도

당신을 헐뜯기보다는 오히려 찬양을 하니

당신의 이름만 언급되면 악평도 호평으로 둔갑하는구나

아, 당신 속에 기거하기로 한 악덕은

얼마나 기막힌 저택을 택한 것인가

그곳에서는 어떠한 오점도 미모가 드리우는 장막에 가리우고

눈으로 볼 수 있는 모든 것이 아름다운 것으로 바뀌는구나
